Mr Adrian Hickey

About Mr Hickey

Adrian has degrees in Philosophy (BA, Queens University of Belfast) and Media Studies (MA, University of Ulster) and joined the University of Ulster in 2007. He teaches modules which centre around visual communication including digital imaging and motion graphics.

Research Fields

Since joining the University Adrian has been involved in digital consultancy work through the University of Ulster’s Office of Innovation. He has also worked with Helen Jackson on rediscOvery (digital media application) exploring ideas regarding the consumption of new media in various environments via mobile devices.

His current practice-based work is a visual investigation of Portstewart using digital photography and software techniques to reference the mobility and flux of the space as a liminal landscape and to identify why and where these contested spaces exist.
