If you are interested in doing research or in knowing about the research that goes on inside of the CMR...
There are four main 'strands' to the CMR's overall research programme (see links to each strand on the right): comparative studies, visual history, policy and digital cultures.
The CMR as an entity functions to interconnect the work being done in these strands - including the discovery of perhaps unexpected connections. Its research culture deliberately fosters these processes of interconnection, while at the same time maintaining strong coherence and a sense of identity within each strand.
The purpose-built CMR facility on the Coleraine campus brings researchers into close association with each other and provides them with state-of-the-art screening, IT, archiving and material resources. At the same time the quality of life in this part of the island of Ireland gives the CMR a distinctive character as a place to work and visit. There are frequent direct flights from the international airport (37 miles away) to and from London, Paris, Amsterdam and other major cities, facilitating international research collaborations.
We are now hosting a site advertising the University of Ulster's MA in Documentary Practice. This course features many of the Centre's researchers in a teaching role: Prof Martin McCloone, Dr Sarah Edge, Dr Helen Jackson and Dr Gail Baylis.
The course is run by Cahal Mclaughlin and Anne Crilly, both experts in the field of documentary practice and welcomes applications from domestic and international students with a degree of experience in this field.
If you are interested, the PDF and site are available for you persual as well as links to the official University prospectus- Good luck!
Including members from the CMR, the MSRI (Media Studies Research Institute) undertakes projects in conjunction with the CMR and contains is also recently receiving an overhaul on it's website which can be found by clicking here or on the image.
The site contains extensive information on the researchers, how to join and examples of the research taking place.
