This profile shows an impressive 60%% of research judged as ‘internationally excellent’; within this, 21% has the highest accolade of ‘world leading’ – double the 10% scored in 2008. The wider impact of our research, showing its relevance and usefulness to the community and society generally, was particularly impressive, scoring 100% ‘internationally excellent’, within which 40% was ‘world leading’ This impact score gave us joint first place of all 67 units in our field, for this particular element of the research. Out of the 67 units overall, taking all the measurements of output, impact and environment together, we were placed 27. Congratulations to a hardworking team.
